My story – Monojit MandalMay 12, 2016
If someone walked up to me four years ago and told me I would become a sports journalist, I probably would have laughed in their face.
I wasn’t supposed to be a journalist. I wasn’t even supposed to spend my days writing after passing out from IMIS with a business management degree.
Yet here I am, sitting at my desk writing for one of the finest sports news agency in the country Sportzwiki after four years of hard work and dedication to stroll in the avenue of journalism.
And I couldn’t be happier.
The time I spent down at the Sportzwiki newsroom and out covering cricket were some of the best times I had here, meeting new people and creating friendships that will last beyond the day I finally pack my bags and head back to my home town.
I still remember the first sports meeting I went to my freshman year and the first assignment I was given. It wasn’t the most glamorous story, but the satisfaction that came is something I still feel today.
But to reach this place, I faced many difficulties, hardships, and what kept me going are my hard work, determination and will power.
I am right now enjoying my role as cricket writer and correspondent with Sportzwiki, and look to become their best in this particular arena.
Apart from journalism, I am an ardent lover of nature, and passionate about photography with my semi-DSLR camera, as this is all I got, however the quality of my photographs are beyond compromise.
Besides doing sports journalism, I have also keen interest in Travel Journalism as well, and with a dream to travel all over the world and see all the places on earth before I say good bye to this world, I write for some travel organizations like Tripoto.com and Thebesttravelled.com.
Also a Member of National Geographic Your Shot since 2015.
